The best method for protecting the public from contamination and biological illness caused by transmission through food, is prevention. The department of health in your local municipality and state regulations are full of food safety and sanitation regulations for the protection of the public. Where the federal government applies rules, regulations and code to food quality and handling, local municipalities enforce the same to local restaurants, hotels, cafeteria, hospitals and food service providers. A ServSafe food safety and food protection manager certification is one of many steps towards improving the safety of the public. Restaurant owners demand the higher food quality and service that improve their food safety and often accompanies their overall popularity and profits. Restaurants receive graded note certificates that most cities demand being posted at a visible location by the entrance of the facility. This certification alongside ServSafe certification(s), exam results, and multiple inspection results illustrate and demonstrate the safety, concern and responsibility effort made by the ownership and management of a facility.
